matakana picnic concert
A highlight of the summer season, this lakeside concert is held on a private property in the heart of Matakana. Co-founder Stephen Fitzgerald builds a stage that stretches across the water, illuminated as evening fades. Audiences gather on the opposite bank with picnics and rugs, enjoying a relaxed evening of opera, music theatre, jazz, Pasifika tunes, and Māori waiata under the stars. The concert is inclusive, joyful, and community-minded — a celebration of music in all its forms.

Each winter, the Studio presents a Gala featuring arias, ensembles, and semi-staged scenes from beloved operas. These concerts bring together some of New Zealand’s finest singers for a rich, theatrical evening in one of Auckland’s most iconic venues. Future seasons will see the Gala continue to evolve, with new collaborations and orchestral performances in development.

Monthly recitals at the Studio’s home in Eden Terrace offer audiences an intimate, up-close experience. These concerts showcase a wide range of artists — from established professionals in solo programmes to emerging singers on the cusp of international careers — accompanied by exceptional pianists. The series provides a unique opportunity to hear talent at every stage of its journey.
CONCERTS at holy trinity cathedral
Larger-scale recitals at Holy Trinity Cathedral in Parnell bring together both rising and established artists. Audiences can expect a rich programme of opera arias and ensembles, performed in the Cathedral’s stunning acoustic.
