In Recital with Sophie Sparrow

We are delighted to welcome Sophie Sparrow back to The Studio.

Sophie trained with Frances from 2013-2014 at Otago University, and 2016-2018 at The Auckland Opera Studio.

Appearing with Sophie will be tenor Harry Grigg, a current Dame Malvina Major artist with NZ Opera, and pianist Somi Kim who needs no introduction to those of you who have been entranced by her performances for us this year.

Sophie will perform her Guildhall School of Music and Drama Master of Performance final recital

to us, a live audience, which will be recorded and sent back to London to be marked. Instead of recording her pieces accompanied by a pre-recorded backing track, we are fortunate that Sophie is able to perform this live.

This concert will showcase solos and ensemble pieces by composers such as Debussy, Mozart, Donizetti, and Britten.

Sophie will be returning to London at the start of September to start the 2 year Royal Academy of Music Opera Programme, an international opera programme for which only nine singers are selected.

Ticket sales will help towards her maintenance costs for her first year in London.

Doors Open at 7.00pm.  Please note that bookings are essential so that numbers can be managed.
