Todo Cambia - Everything Changes
Time & Location
About the Event
The Auckland Opera Studio is delighted to present Todo Cambia (Everything Changes).
Countertenor, Stephen Diaz, will move from opera to perform with the Wellington based early music group, "The Night Watch",
comprised of Kamala Bain (recorder), Douglas Mews (harpsichord), Imogen Granwal (viola da gamba/Baroque cello) and Malcolm Struthers (Baroque double bass).
This will be a fine early music concert played on beautiful period instruments.
Be prepared for a journey beginning in Germany with excerpts from a luscious Bach Cantata,
hopping over to Scotland for some folk music,
heading to New Zealand for a stunning composition from young NZ composer Luka Venter,
and ending on the streets in the tropical heat of Latin America.
The title of the concert Todo Cambia is taken from a song made famous by the magnificent Latin American singer, Mercedes Sosa. The lyrics speak of the ever present and uncontrollable cycles of change in the world contrasted with an unswerving love of one’s home country.
Get lost in the magic of an eclectic mix of music which crosses the boundaries of time, place, genre and culture.
